IRE15 Conference - Session Submission
IRE is gearing up for our annual IRE conference June 4-7 in Philadelphia. Session submissions will be accepted January 12 - February 6.
If your panel is selected, you will be notified no later than mid-April. At that point, we will ask you to confirm your proposed speakers and provide more detail about the session. Since we are not able to accept every proposal, we do not recommend that you confirm each speaker in advance. It may not be possible to include every panel submitted in the program.
Each session is 1 hour in length. We offer panel and demo rooms sessions at the IRE conference, descriptions on each can be found below.
Because of the session length, we ask that panel sessions be limited to one moderator and no more than three speakers. This allows time for questions at the end. For demo sessions, one to two speakers are best.
In order to offer a broad variety of insights and opinions, we ask that only one person from a specific news organization be selected for each session.
Each room will have a presenter computer with Internet access, an LCD projector, and a screen. The computers will have the ability to play audio and video files through VLC Media Player. MS Office Professional will be installed. We encourage all speakers to bring their presentations on thumb drives or to save them to the cloud for easy access.
Due to the large number of speakers participating in the conference, IRE will not be able to cover travel and lodging.
When putting together your panel suggestion and suggesting speakers, please keep in mind that IRE values diversity in many ways, including race, gender, nationality, geography, organization size and type of medium.
